Help Us Protect Our Heritage and Environment from Risky Development

We are a group of concerned citizens from unincorporated Snellville and Centerville, united in our mission to safeguard our local history, heritage, and environment from potentially harmful development. Schroeder Holdings, LLC is proposing a large-scale development on over 100 acres of land behind subdivisions off Mink Livsey Road in unincorporated Gwinnett County. This area is not just any land; it holds significant historical and ecological value that could be overlooked in the rush of development.

Here's what's at stake:

Heritage & Material Culture: This land contains Native American burial sites and an Enslaved People's cemetery adjacent to the Weaver Cemetery. These sites are crucial to our shared history and deserve protection.

Ecology and Environment: Approximately 50 to 60% of this land is located in a floodplain and is part of the Ocmulgee Watershed, which plays a vital role in our local ecosystem. Development here could have serious environmental repercussions.

Legal and Specialist Counsel: We aim to hire expert legal and environmental advisors to advocate for our community's interests and ensure that our conditions for preserving our heritage, environment, and quality of life are met.

Archaeological Survey: If permission is granted, we need to fund an archaeological survey to ensure that sensitive historical sites are properly identified and preserved.
