Defending Creatives: Help Kobby Spiky Fight CAF

Help Me Fight for My Rights Against CAF!

A young creative vs. a corporate giant. A fight for justice. A fight for what’s right.

Last year, I won a legal battle against CAF (Confederation of African Football) and was awarded $250,000 after they used my original soundtrack for the CAF Awards without my permission. It was a victory on paper but in reality, the battle had just begun.

Justice Comes at a Price

After securing a judgment in my favor, I expected closure. Instead, I found myself facing an uphill battle. To enforce the judgment, I had to pay a five-figure sum, out of my own pocket, just to execute what was already legally mine. Imagine that: I was the one wronged, yet I had to keep spending money just to get what I was owed.

And then, as if that wasn’t enough, CAF appealed. Their argument? The amount awarded was "too much." Now, they are determined to drag this fight out, using their deep pockets and legal muscle to exhaust me into giving up.

The Reality of This Battle

I’ve sought advice from experienced people. Many have told me to walk away, that this fight isn’t worth it, that I’ll go broke trying to stand up to a giant like CAF. Because if they lose again, they’ll just appeal all the way to the Supreme Court, ensuring I keep spending money I don’t have.

I won’t lie, I’ve thought about it.

I could take this money and finish my house.
I could invest in my business and secure my future.
At least that way, I’d be guaranteed returns.

But then I ask myself: If I don’t stand up for my rights, who will?

Why This Fight Matters

This isn’t just about me. This is about every young creative who has had their work stolen by corporations that believe they can get away with it simply because they have more money and resources.

CAF could have avoided all of this by simply doing the right thing. They could have paid me for my work. They could have settled. But instead, they chose to fight.

They want me to give up. They want me to be drained financially, mentally, and emotionally.

But I Refuse to Be Bullied

I want to see this through. Not just for myself, but for every creative who has been robbed of their hard work and made to feel powerless. But I can’t do it alone.

Legal battles are expensive, and CAF knows it. That’s why they keep dragging this out, because they can afford to. I, on the other hand, have already spent so much fighting for what’s mine.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you.

How You Can Help

I’m asking for your support in raising funds to cover the legal costs of this appeal and ensure that I can continue this fight. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to standing up to a corporation that thought they could steal from a creative and get away with it.

If you've ever created something and feared that someone more powerful could take it without consequences, this fight is for you too.

This is about justice.
This is about fairness.
This is about proving that creatives deserve to be paid for their work, no matter how big the corporation is.

Please donate and help me fight. Share this with others who believe in standing up for artists, musicians, and creatives everywhere.

Thank you for believing in this cause. Justice must prevail.
