Defense fund for 6 innocent UofK football players
This fundraiser is established to hire attorneys for 6 University of Kentucky football players who have been wrongfully accused. The players were charged on August 19, 2021 with Burglary First degree carrying a 10-20 year prison sentence. One player, Mr. DeVito Tisdale was also charged with Wanton Endangerment First Degree for allegedly having a gun.
Mr. Tisdale passed a polygraph (administered by a retired FBI agent) on August 28, 2021 confirming he did not have a gun.
Timeline of events
March 06, 2021 - University of Kentucky fraternity, Alpha Sigma, was hosting a party at their house.
- Two UK freshman football players were invited to the party and decided to attend
- Shortly after arriving, an intoxicated female in the house stated " who let the n*****s in"
- One player was confronted inside by an intoxicated male trying to smooth things over
- Both players could hear racial slurs like "Get out n****r" and threats like "Let's beat their a**" from other rooms in the house. The threats and slurs became louder and more intense.
- Concerned for their safety, a player summoned help from other freshman football players and an altercation ensued on the property. A few party attendees suffered minor injuries.
- Lexington Police we're notified and a report taken
March 29, 2021 - Lexington Police serve a search warrant on Mr. Tisdale's dorm room
April 20, 2021 - Lexington Police serve search warrants on 12 Football players phones
- party attendees use UK football guide to identify alleged assailants from the freshman roster
- Originally 20 players identified, then 10 players and currently 6 players.
June 7, 2021 - The University of Kentucky investigates March 06, 2021 incident
- Players are re-instated to the football program
August 19, 2021 - Lexington Police charge 6 freshmen football players with Burglary first degree and release statement to media.
August 25, 2021 - The felony cases are headed to a grand jury.
