Defensive Tactics training for Law Enforcement

My name is Lorenzo Valdivia. I am a Law Enforcement Officer in Missouri and know the struggles of small departments to afford defensive tactics training because of the cost. I've talked to so many smaller departments and find the reason most do not have DT instructors is because of their underfunded or small budgets. I want to help these departments bring a Defensive Tactics instructor on staff.My goal with this fundraiser is to fund Officers from smaller departments around the nation to attend a two-week proven and vetted Defensive Tactics Instructor course. The Training will give the small departments someone to train fellow officers of their department and other departments in their area. With what is going on in America, the need for Officers to be trained in areas such as Bear hug defense, weapons retention, handcuffing, what to do if someone gets them on the ground is critical.

 

100% of fundraised will be used to pay for officers attending training. It costs about $20,000 to cover tuition and lodging for 10 Officers. We will be first offering applications to departments with 50 or fewer Officers and then open it to larger Departments if we cannot fill the spots. Any additional funds raised will be used to bring other Officers to training.
