Long Way to Norah Murphy's Defibrillator for Fenit
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
UPDATE: The fundraiser is now CLOSED. Thank you to everybody for your Support!
The girls have completed their epic marathon swim last Saturday 10th September in 12 hours and 6 minutes.
They were in great spirits throughout, encouraging each other, switching over with a high five, digging deep when needed and really bonding as a team.
They had the company of the dolphins for nearly five hours of the swim which was an amazing experience for them.
Under the watchful eye of their coach, John Edwards, Wild Water Adventures, who said, " This was a huge achievement, this swim has never been done before, it was an adventure from start to finish".
The girls have decided to donate the remainder of the money to Fenit RLNI and will make a presentation to them once the defibrillator is in place. The fundraising will finish on Monday 19th September.
They would like to thank everybody for their kind messages of support and for all donations. Fenit will be a safer place for all.
Thank you
We are Five Moms of Kingdom Swimming Club children. We are regular open water swimmers in Fenit, Tralee, Co. Kerry. We were looking for a fun challenge and decided to swim a swim that had never been done before.
We will swim the distance of The English Channel but in Tralee Bay as a relay. Starting in Tralee and finishing at Nora Murphy's Bar on Brandon Pier. Under the watchful eye of our open water swim coach John Edwards, a Kingdom Swimming Club Coach and Wild Water Adventures.
We are raising funds for a defibrillator which will be erected on the wall of The Maritime Center in Fenit, accessible to the large community of swimmers, sailors, cyclists, fishermen, visitors and locals.
If we are lucky enough to raise over and above, we hope to donate the money to a local charity.
Thank you for helping us raise funds for this worthy cause, and thank you to all our well-wishers; we will be thinking of you all during the Long Way to Nora Murphy's!
