Delilah THE MOVIE

Jersey City author and filmmaker, Daniel Ali, fresh off the success of his short film, Love and the Game, is back working on a new full-length feature film titled DELILAH. Based on his book, Across the Middle, Delilah is guaranteed to break your heart and challenge you to believe at the same time. The film boasts a diverse cast led by rising actress Michelle Batista, (Love and the Game), in the title role.  Ali has brought in the talented and well-known, Roger "Chino" Cordoba as Director of Photography, and both Di Shawn J. Gandy and Virginia Caamaño as Executive Producers.

Filming for Delilah is slated to begin in November 2021 and will be produced, written, and directed by Ali.  As with most independent, diverse filmmakers, funding remains to be the greatest hurdle, which in turn, impedes unique, much-needed storytelling and the ability to control our own creative narratives.

Film Synopsis

 

Nicholas Alexander is a practicing psychiatrist and adjunct professor at Montclair State University. After twenty years of a seemingly happy but repressed existence, Nicholas is devastated when his wife, Vanessa leaves him for another man. His life, plagued by secrets and hidden emotions, is turned completely upside down. And, at forty-eight, he finds himself staring middle age in the face alone. That is until he meets twenty-four-year-old Delilah Hernandez, a first-year grad student at the college. The two fall in love and things quickly spiral out of control, leaving him questioning everything he thought he knew about life, love, and more importantly, himself. Blinded by his unbridled passion for Delilah, Nicholas is rocked to the core when he discovers she’s got a few secrets of her own.
