Delishia's Fight: Battling Stage 3 Cancer

- Hi, my name is Delishia Nicole Tate, and on October 17, I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple-negative invasive ductal carcinoma, which is a very aggressive breast cancer in both breasts and 7 cancerous lymph nodes. I had no idea I was this sick. I have now started chemotherapy; December 9th will be my 4th round of chemotherapy, trying to shrink the tumors. This has impacted my daily life and my family, knowing we just lost my aunt to cervical cancer and my mother going through her knee replacement. Not being able to work has been tough. My mother has been there to care for me as much as she can. I cannot work and am constantly sick, not being able to do for myself. I am often nauseous and sensitive to sunlight, etc. With the holidays coming, it is getting harder on my family. I have got genetic testing done and I have recently found out that I have a rare gene in my body called PTEN that is the cause of my cancer. What this gene does is it causes different types of cancer to come back to my body. I pray and hope this is the last fight of cancer I have to go through.
