Deliver smiles for Meals on Wheels clients in Wales

Donation protected
NACC Wales Deputy Chair, Gareth Edwards, will be climbing the highest mountain in Wales in support of Meals on Wheels Week later this year.

Mr Edwards and brave volunteers (Jay & Dylan) will travel to North Wales to scale Mount Snowden on foot on Saturday 21st of September, raising money for Meals on Wheels customers in Wales.

The funds raised will support those who depend on Meals on Wheels services in Wales by paying towards additional treats and the famous Welsh Cakes with their meals for a whole week if successful.

Meals on Wheels and Community Meals services afford older and vulnerable people nutritious food, friendly human interaction and wellbeing checks - all vital ingredients which allow people to live independently in their own homes.

This year's Meals on Wheels Week takes place on November 4th - 8th. Organised by the National Association of Care Catering (NACC), it unites caterers, social care workers, food suppliers, volunteers, cares and more to raise awareness about the importance of Meals on Wheels services.

The COVID-19 pandemic and rising food prices have posed great challenges to the Meals on Wheels industry in recent years. Many Local Authorities are no longer supporting these services and closing them permanently, leaving thousands of vulnerable people stranded.

All donations will go directly towards assisting those who depend on Meals on Wheels services throughout Wales. Please donate generously if you can.
