Delivery van for the community

Sadly, our delivery van has broken down and is going to be expensive to repair. As a non-funded volunteer group we simply do not have the funds to cover the cost, the van has served us well but is beyond repair.

Social services, the NHS, and the Council rely heavily on us to provide essential items to their referrals, and the general public who appeal to us via email or phone. The van collects and delivers over 30 items a week to many families in need

Just some of those deliveries included a cot for a baby, a bed for a gentleman to allow him to come home from hospital and a washing machine to allow a mother to wash her childrens clothes. Our items and the service we provide are free of charge, as we are aware many people are struggling (we rely on donations)

We do not like asking for help it is our pleasure to provide it, but we are in desperate need and we will try anything to get our deliveries back up and running to allow us to continue to support our community

It is unusual for us to ask for help, our volunteers are all about helping others but desperate times call for desperate measures to continue helping the whole of Cumbria.
