Dells Mill Dam Restoration
Donation protected
Dells Mill Museum is located 3 miles north of Augusta , Wisconsin . The Mill was built in 1864 and had a working grist wheel for grinding wheat. The original dam was made of wood and was replaced in 1919 with a cement dam.
The Dells Mill dam, upon sale, was required by the DNR to either be repaired or be completely removed. The new owner, Herman Borntreger of Amish descent, has decided to restore the dam and grist wheel. Because of his religion and culture he cannot request grant money but can accept donations . We as friends of Mr. Borntreger are asking for donations to offset the personal cost of restoring the dam and keeping this registered State Historical Landmark one of the most photographed locations in the State of Wisconsin. Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
