Demarest Swim Club Needs Our Help!

For decades, the Demarest Swim Club has been the source of wonderful summer memories for countless families in the Northern Valley. It is a place for community members of varying ages to learn to swim, compete on teams, exercise, become lifeguards, meet and socialize with new and old friends, bask in the sun, unwind, and just enjoy summer.

Right now, this special swim club’s existence is threatened by increased operating costs and the need for infrastructure repairs. There have been some additions to the leadership of the swim club with plans for new management, but opening the pool is contingent on raising about $90,000 even before the membership drive begins. Our long-term goal of renovating the bathrooms will require an additional $125,000. We are confident that former, current, and future members of the pool will come together as a community to rally a comeback for this amazing gem in the midst of the enchanting Nature Center.

This GoFundMe is for donations from individuals who would like to see the pool remain open in 2024 so that local camps and all other programming can continue. These donations will be in addition to any membership fees for 2024 and the future. The Board is also putting together a Corporate Sponsorship form with opportunities for visibility for their business in person at the pool and online on our rebuilt website and social media accounts. Our vision, contingent upon fundraising and improved membership numbers:

-Summer 2024 - Superficial facelift work to the buildings, grounds, and bathrooms

-Improved competitive swim and dive programs.

-Improved cleanliness of bathrooms.

-Summer 2025 - Bathroom renovations

-Summer 2026 - Main Office and Pump House renovations

If these combined fundraising efforts do not meet the opening goal, GoFundMe donations will be returned, minus the 2.9% processing fee. In addition, any corporate sponsor checks received, will not be deposited until the board is confident that opening the pool in 2024 is possible.
