Dear friends and family,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our beloved Demetrius Viray (62), a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He touched so many lives with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

On Thursday, October 3rd, Demie suffered a devastating heart attack and was without proper oxygen to the brain for about 30-45 minutes before arriving at the hospital. Once there, an EKG revealed a severe blood clot, which was successfully removed. However, the time without oxygen to the brain caused serious concern about his brain function. On the evening of Friday, October 4th, an EEG and MRI were performed to assess his brain activity. The results confirmed our worst fears—Demie had sustained significant and irreversible brain damage, leaving him unable to respond.

In light of this heartbreaking reality, we made the incredibly difficult decision to honor his wishes and remove him from life support, giving him the peace and dignity he deserves.

As we come together to celebrate Demetrius’ life, we are faced with the challenge of covering the unexpected funeral and memorial costs.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward funeral and memorial expenses and will help ease the financial burden on our family during this difficult time.
