Deming Strong

Marsha Deming a wife, mother and educator was diagnosed with a rare form of Appendix Cancer in March 2017.  Sadley, the treatments that have given her precious extra months with her family (husband Les, and sons, Luke 15, Lane 13, and Logan 8) are no longer effective.  We are asking for your help as we see her family through this difficult time.  

Marsha and Les are both Union County Public School (UCPS) employees.  Marsha taught high school English for 15 years, most recently at Sun Valley High School.  Les is the current principal at Wolf School and was former assistant principal at Piedmont High School and Sun Valley High School.  (Les has taken a leave of absence in order to help with Marsha's care).  Combined, their decades of service to students are a testament to their love of children and their commitment to help them realize their full potential.  

This is also evident in the way they raised their three sons.  They instilled the values of hard work, perseverance and teamwork in their sons by supporting their love of baseball.  All three boys played several years for Indian Trail Athletic Association (where Les acted as baseball commissioner and coach of MANY teams for several years).  Luke currently plays on the JV team for CATA, Lane plays for the Sun Valley Middle School team and Logan still plays at ITAA.  They are energetic, fun-loving, team-oriented group of brothers, and Marsha is their supportive chauffeuring, cooler packing, uniform washing, schedule keeping, sideline cheering mom, a role she cherishes.  If you or your children have ever crossed paths with anyone in this family, whether it was in a classroom or at a ballpark, we are sure you remember them fondly as they are a special family.  

We are asking for your donations so that Les, Luke, Lane and Logan can focus their thoughts on Marsha and lessen their financial concerns and worries.  Any amount is welcome and greatly appreciated.
