Dena's Wheelchair Accessible Van

My name is  Dena White, I  was involved in a  car accident in Sept. 2006, I have three kids and two grands. At the time of the accident my  kids were 10, 14 and 15, I had a full-time job and I was in nursing school. In the accident I broke my neck in three places and I'm  now a C4-C5 quadriplegic .Although the doctor said I would only be able to move my head, I knew God , and he said, "Not So". I wasn't able to complete my nursing degree, so I decided to take online classes at Kaplan University. There I obtained my Associates Degree in Medical Office Management and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Although I had to support my family off of a disability check, I was able to see all three of them cross that stage and recieve their diplomas. I'm now being  offered jobs,  ones that I know I can do but can not do until I get transportation to get there. I am in desperate need of a Wheelchair Accessible Van. I'm eager to become more independent . I  have entered different contest trying to win a van but I haven't had any success. My attendants, who  take care of me everyday, are now having a hard time transporting me.  Without the van, my fear is I may loose the people who care for me. Although I have a power wheelchair, I'm unable to use it, because I can not transport it. When we leave the house, my attendants have to pick me up out of my manual wheelchair and into the seat of the car, then out of the car back into the chair. This is causing severe back pain to them, as well as myself. This Wheelchair Accessible Van will help me become more independent. Receiving this van will allow me the opportunity to work, attend therapy sessions and enjoy some activities outside my home. I have been driven around for the pass ten years because I cannot financially afford the van myself. I would love the opportunity to get behind the wheel again, maybe drive myself to Walmart. I am asking for your help, so I can enjoy the freedom of independence .
