I am making this for my sister. Have you ever been given a time limit? She has and this is her story...
The last several months have been so hard on her. In June 2022, she started having heart problems. By July she had to have a pacemaker put in because her heart totally gave out and we lost her for a few minutes. Thankfully, the hospital was able to act quickly and bring her back so she could have a pacemaker installed. After the pacemaker was put in, it seemed like she was on a path back to full health and was able to start working full time again! But then, a few months later, she started coughing. I mean she couldn't walk more than a few steps without almost passing out from coughing. This was in October. The drs thought she just had walking pneumonia but she wasn't getting any better with any medications. By late November she coughing so much she couldn't work hardly at all. She went back to the ER and got another chest xray and they said she had a mass in her lungs. Throughout December she continued to get worse and on the 22nd she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, unable to breathe. When she was released she was able to have a biopsy. Which came back as cancer. The dr thought maybe stage 3 and scheduled a PET Scan and more testing. It confirmed our worst fear. She has stage 4 lung cancer. She also has it in her bones along several vertebrae and her lower rib. Unfortunately, her cancer is unoperable. She will be receiving 4 rounds of chemo and immunotherapy, then will continue with immunotherapy for as long as her body tolerates it. As you can imagine this is the last thing anyone expected. The Dr said most people live around a year. I want to help her live her best life and be able to make as many memories with her kids and grandkids each and every day she can. This is where we need your help. She is not able to work anymore and her savings account is depleted from almost a year of taking time off from being so sick and all the costs of dr appts, medications and tests she has had to pay for. We are working on getting her on social security but that is not a quick process. I want her to live out her life in peace and without financial worries.
I will keep this page updated as time goes on. If you are able to help in anyway, she would be so appreciative.
