Deni’s Breast Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Getting a phone call that one of your best friends fell 20+ feet and was being airlifted to a trauma hospital should be the absolute scariest call you ever receive about them. Unfortunately for all of us who love her, it has proved to be not even close.
Deni was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this spring after her annual mammogram required additional testing. In June, Deni went through the first part of her long treatment, undergoing surgery to remove the 3 cancerous spots as well as the affected lymph nodes and a breast reduction on the unaffected breast. We knew that she would have several weeks of radiation but chemotherapy has always been up in the air… until now. She will begin a rigorous Chemo schedule in early August that will take its course over 20 weeks before beginning radiation.
Our dear friend worked very hard to regain her mobility after her traumatic fall so she could return to work and aid in regaining financial stability. An already stressful situation is becoming more stressful as they chip away from the little savings they have with the loss of her income. When I asked her her thoughts on this campaign, I’ve repeatedly been told “No, I’ll figure it out”. No one should have to figure that out while simultaneously fighting for their life. Deni was hopeful to return to work until chemo started to save some more but things have taken a turn for the worst today which has caused me to do this for her anyways. Her breast is infected and she will most likely have another procedure to help clear the infection, likely pushing her timeline out even further.
If you can afford to help this family alleviate the financial stress they’re under, we would be so appreciative. Prayers and positive thoughts are absolutely appreciated as well. Thank you! ❤️
