Denise Flaherty Pagacik Scholarship

Denise was one of the most caring, giving and selfless people that this world has ever known. While her time with us was cut tragically short we were all better for knowing her. No matter how insignificant the interaction she left a lasting impression. I remember a few years back when we witnessed a head on car crash in front of us. A mother and her young daughter were involved with the mother seriously injured. Denise provided comforting support to her daughter both before and after emergency personnel arrived. She had a way about her that made people feel at ease. Several days later the father of that daughter called us to thank Denise for her time, compassion and calmness that got his daughter through that day's event. One of many times I would think that I was so lucky to have such a wonderful woman as my wife.

To honor her memory the Pagacik family has set up a Scholarship in her name. The Scholarship will provide for financial assistance to a Bishop Feehan (Attleboro, MA) high school student who exemplified what Denise was all about, service to others before self. What better way to carry on her selflessness by providing to someone who will walk the halls of the same school Denise did many years ago. The Scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman and provide the assistance for four years at the school, assuming the financial need criteria is met each year. The student selection will be made by a committee formed of immediate family and former graduates.
