Denise & Nolan’s IVF Journey
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Summer. You may know one of my lifelong best friends, Denise (Hatch) Kassimatis and her husband, Nolan. Let me tell you just a bit of their story. Denise and Nolan have been married for over 10 years. Like most couples, they were excited to start a family. And like so many couples, they ran into the heartbreak of infertility. Denise went through several difficult surgeries and procedures over several years. They went through a round of IVF over six years ago. It was awful on Denise’s body. She did not respond well to the shots and was very sick. But she pushed through and they were so excited to announce that they were having a baby girl! However, at the 20-week ultrasound they received the devastating news that their sweet little girl had made her way back to heaven. Over the next several years up until this summer, Denise has had more surgeries, procedures, and one more failed implant.
On top of all this and working full-time (and soooo much overtime), Denise has also been the primary caregiver for her sweet Mom who has been bed-ridden and suffered from extreme chronic pain for almost 10 years. Nolan lost his father unexpectedly a few years ago and Denise lost her older brother suddenly last year. They have made a lot of sacrifices helping family during this time. Denise has also served her ward and neighbors selflessly as the Relief Society President for the last couple years.
To know Denise is to have an immediate selfless, charitable and genuine friend. She personifies empathy and love. It would have been so easy for her to become bitter or angry with all she’s been through. But instead she has become resilient, empathetic, selfless, and someone of incredible faith. She would do anything for anyone and we want to do something for her.
Denise and Nolan have made the decision and are taking a leap of faith to do IVF one last time. Up to this point, they have spent over $55,000 on their infertility journey. They have 5 healthy embryos and are looking at $7,000 per implant. The doctors feel that they have a good chance at a successful implant and are optimistic. However, with the high cost of IVF, Denise and Nolan have pulled money from their retirement in order to do this. I have set up this GoFundMe as a way to help ease their financial burden as well as shower them with love and hope. Any amount helps and is so very much appreciated and prayed for! Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support!
We love you Denise and Nolan!
