Denise Weber's ALS Fund
Donation protected
As you know or are just finding out our Mother, Friend, Sister, Daughter, Cousin, Aunt, Ex Co-Worker, Sister In Christ, Denise L. Weber was diagnosed early this year with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages about two to five years from the time of diagnosis. The disease attacks the body's muscles and to date there is no known cure. You can read more about the disease at:
With ALS the needs come fast and change fast. For example, at Christmas time (December 2014) Denise could go up stairs; drive; and care for herself. Currently, as of July 2015 she is in a wheel chair 99% of the time and has very little use of her arms. She can no longer: go up stairs; drive; care for herself; etc.
Denise is a loving, caring, giving person and always gave generously when she could to those in need. Her four(4) children, five(5) grand children, two(2) expecting grand children, and brothers/sisters all hold a special place in her heart of giving. For years she has given and now is our opportunity to show God’s love to her and give back.
Below is a list of the current needs: (In no particular order)
Items Needed:
~ Wheelchair Van
~Hoyer Lift
~ Hospital Bed
~Assistance with mounting medical bills
~Small wall mount TV for the Bed Room
~Funds to get to Son’s wedding in September
~Handicap shower
~Personal health care aid
~ Occasional Meals
The reason for this site is to assist with the ever changing needs as they are outpacing their/our recourses. Let us explain why the above says our instead of just their recourses. When Denise is not in Connecticut she is in New York as that is where the majority of her family is. Jim, Denise’s Fiancé is fortunate to be able to telecommute and when in New York they stay at Denise’s daughter and son-in-law’s house, Mandie and Daryl. Recently, she has been in NY a majority of the time. If you do not know Denise’s daughter Mandie and Son-In-Law Daryl they are also loving, caring, giving people. Mandie is currently a stay at home mom.
Thanks you for reading our story and for your support.
Blessings!
