We need a new Scout HQ - We need your help!

After over 35 years of faithful service, our beloved Scout HQ is nearing the end of its practical life.

Our Scout HQ is a temporary ‘Portakabin’ structure that typically has a useful life of about 25 years. We originally bought the building back in the 90’s and it was second-hand then. It’s now at the end of its useful life and despite maintenance and improvements over the years we are starting to experience water leaks and subsidence. Recognising this issue, several years ago we started a fund towards a new building and we now believe we can move forward with the project. We have put together a team of volunteers to look at options for a new, permanent structure and working with the local Councils, the group has started an initial consultation phase and is looking to move forward obtaining the necessary approvals during 2024. The proposals will be designed to be the most environmentally friendly as possible.

The new Scout HQ will give the continued ability to provide Scouting to over 120 young people, actively engaging and supporting in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.
