The Dennis Franks Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in October 2021 after his untimely passing. Dennis was a beloved family man and American success story.
From humble beginnings in Pittsburgh -- the son of a steelworker and a German figure skating champion, Dennis achieved much through incredible hard work and an extraordinary passion for life. From high school, he attended the University of Michigan on a football scholarship where he was awarded All Big Ten and Second Team All American Honors in his senior year. He went on to the NFL, first for the Philadelphia Eagles, then for the Detroit Lions. He captained the special teams and was named Most Valuable Player during his years in Philadelphia. Remembered by his teammates for his infectious laugh and his resilient spirit, it was Dennis’s dream to give other young athletes the opportunity to achieve their dreams through the opportunities afforded to him through his education.
For more than 30 years, after football, Dennis applied his high energy, team building talents and communication skills to mentoring and motivating entrepreneurs with Market America in 10 countries around the world. Through the Dennis Franks Memorial Scholarship Fund, his legacy of positivity, empowerment and gratitude will live on through the recipients of this gift.
