Dennis McCrary: Medical Emergency Campaign
Donation protected
Dennis McCrary has never met a stranger. He would give the shirt off his back and his last dollar to those he sees in need. He is loved and cherished by so many around him, and he cares deeply about those in his community. So it is with heavy hearts that we share his current circumstances with you.
On Wednesday, August 24th, Dennis was rushed by ambulance from Howard Memorial Hospital to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock for severe abdominal distress. Once he arrived at Baptist, he was taken to the operating room, where doctors removed a portion of his colon. Upon waking up from surgery, he began experiencing unexpected and unexplained complications. Over the next few days, he began continual dialysis, was placed on a ventilator, and was deeply sedated. As Dennis’ status worsened, the doctors performed a second surgery on Wednesday, August 31st, resulting in another portion of his colon being removed and installing an ileostomy bag. Since the second surgery, he has shown slow, incremental improvement. He is still in the surgical ICU (SICU), and it is expected that he will remain in the hospital for several more weeks as he recovers. Dennis will also need extensive follow-up treatment even after hospitalization. He has a long road ahead in the coming weeks and months.
We’re seeking help from family and friends during this difficult time. Because of the extent of this illness, this will be a heavy financial burden on Dennis and Brenda. The bulk of the financial burden will be from medical bills. In addition, as Dennis remains in the hospital and during his recovery afterward, the loss of income will also impact the payment of day-to-day bills and living expenses.
For these reasons, we humbly ask for gifts and donations to help alleviate the burden on our family. A donation account has been set up at First State Bank in Nashville, Arkansas, if you live locally and wish to give in person. Please get in touch with Jennifer (McCrary) Morrow with any questions regarding that account. All donations on this GoFundMe go directly to Dennis and Brenda and will be deposited in the same donation account mentioned above.
From our family to yours, we thank you for your prayers, love, and generosity during this trying time. Your care and concern have touched our hearts, and we cannot begin to express our appreciation.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
