Hi, my name is Brittany Deneys. I am Denny's oldest daughter. Many of you have been asking what's happening and how to help my father. So wanted to write here, so everyone is caught up and knows what is going on.

Friday, October 14th, 2022, my father got on a video call with all of us girls to let us know that he had Cellulitis (A serious bacterial infection of the skin. Usually affects the leg and the skin appears swollen and red and painful.) and that he had a Bone Infection in both bones of each leg. He told us he would be going to the hospital on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022 and would have a couple of days of antibiotics to get rid of the Cellulitis; that he would have surgery and get one leg cut off just above the ankle and other leg, they would treat with Antibiotics.

Thursday, October 20th, 2022, late at night, we found out that both legs would be cut off a little below the knee to get rid of the Bone Infection. The next day Friday, October 21st, he had his surgery, and the doctor called me in the morning to let me know what was going to happen and that they were prepping him. They also called me four hours later when he was out of surgery and told me everything went well and that they cut off the halfway mark between his knee and the bottom of his feet, so they got rid of the Bone Infection.

Dad was supposed to go to a transitional care facility to help heal him and rehabilitate him after his surgery. Due to his case not being a severe case, no one would take him, were full, or his insurance would not cover it. So tomorrow, he heads back home without a full team of PCAs (he has his one main PCA, and that is it). We are making this GoFundMe to help him raise money to possibly be able to afford to pay for PCAs out of pocket. There is also a news article that will be coming out with an article on dad, and a local news station will be doing a report as well.

We are not only trying to help dad and what we can help him with, but we are making this well known, so people around the country to make people aware that this is happening to a lot of people in similar or different situations, and they are also struggling.
