Dennis Thorne's Road To Recovery

Donation protected

Loving, kind, successful, fun, admired. These are a few things people have said to describe Dennis Thorne and we couldn't agree more. His everlasting love and commitment to his wife Christine, has given them a lifelong partnership which is a beautiful thing for family and friends to witness. Dennis is an amazing dad to his sons Michael and Brian. Dennis and Christine recently celebrated the wedding of their eldest son Michael and were overjoyed to welcome their new daughter Allie into the family. Dennis especially enjoys spending time with Christine, Michael, Allie, Brian and Brian's girlfriend Ashley. In his free time, he loves making homemade pizza in his pizza oven, cooking mouth-watering ribs, playing corn hole with his boys, golfing with his buddies, relaxing by his pool and vacationing somewhere amazing. He and his wife Christine are always up for any new adventure and truly enjoy spending time with each other. He is such a fun guy to be around. On May 14, 2023, things would forever change for him and his family. Dennis and Christine were traveling home from a Mother's Day celebration when they were in a horrific car crash. The accident, unfortunately, left Dennis with life-changing injuries. Christine had a sprained ankle, scrapes and bruises but that was not the case for Dennis. He lost his vision in his right eye, had multiple facial fractures and broke his back and as a result, no longer has the use of his legs. He spent weeks in the hospital undergoing numerous surgeries to help repair his injuries. Recently he was transferred to a rehab facility to teach him how to live with his disability. He is working hard to get strong enough to be able to go home and spend time with his family which is a place he feels safe and loved. His wife Christine has been by his side throughout this whole ordeal. She is an amazing woman and her strength is admired by everyone who knows her. She sat at his bedside every day while he was recovering in the hospital while not concerned at all about her injuries. While Dennis works hard each day challenging himself in physical therapy, we thought we could all come together and help this amazing family as they prepare to bring him home. The family will need to make many changes throughout their home to make it possible for Dennis to maneuver around. A lift needs to be installed so he can come and go with ease and they have to purchase a new car so he can get around comfortably. Medical bills need to be paid amongst other things. We can all make a difference while providing love, friendship and support and hope they make a smooth transition as Dennis learns to settle into his new way of life.
