Dennis Blanchard is a loving husband and father of three boys – Brandon, Sean and Micheal and is longtime member of the Canby community. Dennis has always been a loyal supporter of all of his boy’s pursuits. He is a HUGE music fan – always willing to share his collection to all who are interested. Dennis is a devoted PGE employee for more than 37 Years spending many holiday’s on Storm Duty - keeping our houses warm and lights on, while missing his own family’s celebration. To all who know him, he has a ready smile, open heart and is a good friend to many. Bless you Dennis

For those of you who don’t know, in August Dennis was diagnosed with metastasized, stage 4, kidney cancer. They found cancer tumors in his one remaining kidney, in his lungs and on his brain. This is following a knee replacement in June as he was just beginning to recover. He endured his first brain surgery August 17, 2015 to try to remove the tumors and immediately started full brain radiation and chemotherapy. As I write this, it is so apparent how much the family had had to endure and the battle is just beginning.
Following this initial treatment, last weekend, Dennis required a second emergency brain surgery due to an infection. The medical team had to go back in to remove part of his skull and the infectious tissue. They have done a number of scans and Dennis and his family anxiously await results….and next steps.
Dennis has been on disability since February and his wife Susi has been on unpaid family leave to care for him. This page has been set up to help offset Dennis’s mounting expenses and general support for the family. Many people have asked “how can I help?” As anyone who has been through anything like this knows, it is devastating financially.
This page has been set up to help facilitate a way you can help. During this season of giving, any amount helps and will go directly toward offsetting the families escalating expenses.
