My Life is A Miracle

Help Dennis Watlington get back on his feet.

We are The Friends of Dennis Watlington and we’ve set up this fundraising page to help this amazing and intriguing man get back on his feet.

Throughout his life Dennis Watlington has experienced extraordinary highs and deep lows: From the New York City projects to becoming class president at a New England boarding school. From the crack dens of Harlem to the red carpet in Hollywood for the Emmy Awards.

For much of his incredible life Dennis has always been looking out for others; from family to street friends, from gang members to prep school classmates, from prison inmates to Oscar winners, from celebrities to people with special needs and disabilities.

Devastatingly this phenomenal man suffered three massive strokes in June 2011 and is still living in a rehabilitation center, where he’s working his hardest to get back on his feet and inspiring all those around him.
Our goal is to help Dennis recover sufficiently to resume giving to others through his art and to lead a more independent life.

To do this, The Friends of Dennis need your help now. Your donation will go into the Dennis Watlington Supplemental Needs Trust (dated October 28, 2013) which provides Dennis with the additional assistance he needs towards his goal: Additional occupational and physical therapy sessions, aqua therapy sessions, nutritional support, transport and assistance, computer lessons, cognition and memory therapy.

The trust is a “Third Party Supplemental Needs Trust” established so that your donations will not disqualify Dennis from governmental benefits that he receives due to his condition. Such governmental benefits do not go nearly far enough.
