Dental Care for Wesley Fultz
Donation protected
After years of unexplained symptoms, doctors were able to determine that my brother, Wesley Fultz, has a long-standing Lyme disease infection. It turns out that he has had the infection for decades, and it has caused many physical and neurological problems - now and throughout his life. He can no longer work and is quite debilitated.
Currently, he is in a lot of pain from untreated dental problems that he is unable to pay for. I set up this fund to help him get the dental care he is no longer able to provide for himself. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
For those who don't know about Lyme disease, it is an infectious disease caused by a bacterium called Borrelia, which is spread by tick bites. Wes and our family spent one summer in a part of Connecticut that is an epicenter of the Lyme disease epidemic. We believe that he was bitten at this time, which explains a host of mysterious symptoms he had throughout his life. These eventually got worse, and a few years ago he was tested for Lyme disease. The test was positive, indicating that he had been infected with the bacterium.
He received treatment with large doses of antibiotics, but these were only partially successful. Since then, he has not been able to work and his general health has suffered. Currently, he has significant problems with several teeth, which makes eating and life in general difficult and stressful.
So, thank you to those who have contributed - your generosity will make a meaningful improvement in his life, and help offset some of the unfair suffering he has endured. For those who haven't contributed anything - please consider doing so. Even a small gift - of $5 - would help show that he is not alone in his struggles.
