Dental Mission: Your Support Matters

Hi!

I will be joining a dental mission trip to Uganda and Tanzania.

When I started down the path of dentistry, it was always my hope to bring care to those who need it most.

On the local level, I have done that by dedicating 2 days a week to treating individuals with special needs, often times for free or at very low cost.

Now I am privileged to be a part of a team who is bringing care to a far corner of the world.

Your donation will not go to my travel expenses. I have already put in $3500 of my own funds to pay for myself. 100% of your donation will go directly to purchasing supplies which are critically needed.

The first $5k will go towards buying a dental chair for the clinic in Uganda.

The additional funds will go towards purchasing other indispensable clinical needs, for example, plumbing costs for the clinic so they can get running water to said chair!

A little about the trip and where I am going:

In Uganda, KinderSmiles will be returning to Bweyale to partner with Medical Chambers and Dr. Jane Mandera, a public health dentist. Last year, they established KSCOHC Uganda and helped the team increase access to oral health care! Funds raised from last year's trip purchased a sink for the clinic. YES, this clinic was trying to operate without the fundamental basics of running water.

In Tanzania, KinderSmiles will be partnering with Kinywa Salama Initiative in Dar Es Salaam, whose mission and vision are perfectly aligned with those of KinderSmile Foundation: To promote oral health care and prevent oral diseases through education, screening, and awareness campaigns while also nurturing a new generation of dentists who are committed to promoting equality in the field of dentistry.

The trip will be a mix of educational outreach as well as clinical treatment.
