Dentistry for Pill Bug

Pill Bug is a very special little cat with congenital dwarfism being fostered by Broken Tail Rescue. One of his many challenges is that his jaw is short causing his lower canine teeth to puncture the roof of his mouth. They also collide with his upper canines making eating challenging. Pill Bug needs a dental procedure called Vital Pulp Therapy where his lower canines are cut down, the root removed, and the teeth cap. This is a better procedure for him long term versus simple extraction since he is a young, growing cat. (Okay, he's a dwarf do he isn't growing MUCH, but he's growing!) 



Pill Bug is scheduled to have dental surgery in early August, and the estimate range for his procedure is approximately $2100-$2300, including xrays and bloodwork. We are hoping to raise funds to cover the cost of this much needed procedure! Broken Tail Rescue relies entirely on donations from the community to provide care for the cats and dogs that need our help. We do not turn animals away because of medical need. As an entirely volunteer organization, every dollar raised goes directly to help animals like Pill Bug!



Any funds raised over the target amount will be put toward the rescue's balance at Heal Veterinary Clinic for Pill Bug's neuter/cryptorchid surgery.
