Deon DeAllie NYC Local 580 Ironworker

Hi, my name is David Andersen. I am a retired Local 40 Ironworker. My friend Deon DeAllie who is a proud member of Ironoworkers Local 580 was in a very serious car accident last week. Deon was on his way to work on his Vespa at 6 am when another driver tried to make an illegal u-turn, striking Deon and crushed Deon's leg. Deon has a broken leg/foot in multiple places and is going to require multiple reconstructive leg/foot surgeries to at least try and repair some of the very serious trauma. He is going to be in the hospital for several weeks as he undergoes multiple procedures and surgeries and then will also have a long road back to health.

Deon's spirit is unwavered and beyond positive, however, he is in serious condition and is going to be out of work for the foreseeable future. Deon has plenty of bills just like the rest of us and has a 16 yr old child and a baby on the way. Unfortunately, Deon is not eligible for any type of workman's compensation because Deon was not at work yet. Deon could use any and all of our help in order to remain financially stable during this extremely difficult time.

I understand and respect that we are in difficult times for a lot of people. With that being said, I know I was brought up to do anything in my power to help a union brother or sister in need. Our Union Brother Needs our help! If we all help a little or as much as we can, I'm hoping we can make a difference in Deon's recovery! Deon can use our generosity to help pay unpaid medical bills, help pay household bills, and just to keep his family going as he embarks on his long road to recovery.
