DEPUTY CONSTABLE ROMAULDO MARTINEZ CANCER FUND

Recently our brother, Deputy Constable Romauldo (Ron) Martinez, a good friend and co-worker, was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the liver and is currently dealing with major medical issues on a weekly basis, which require treatments to drain fluid from his stomach and, at times, the lungs. In addition, Ron requires intravenous immunoglobulin infusions as part of the treatment for his cancer and, because of the size of the mass in his liver, he is not a candidate for surgical removal or radiation. Unfortunately, a liver transplant is not an option at this point either. God willing, the infusion will bump up his immune system and, if successful, radiation may become an option. Nonetheless, he is fighting an uphill battle with no end in sight.

For those of us who know Ron, you know he is not the type of individual who likes attention on himself, and he is not the type who would ever ask anyone for help. That said, his ongoing medical needs have exhausted finances and his continued need for the various treatments has become a burden too difficult to bear.
