Deputy Horton's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On July 16th, 2020, Senior Deputy Jonathan Horton collided with an oncoming vehicle while riding his motorcycle to work. He was seriously injured with a broken knee, pelvis, ankle and toes. Doctors say he has a long road to recovery. Jonathan has already undergone two surgeries and his doctors say he will need three more.
Jonathan is a 14-year veteran of the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office and a dedicated family man. He and his wife, Mesha, have two sons (ages 11 and 14). Now Jonathan is struggling to juggle the growing stack of medical bills, with supporting a family and working to get back on his feet.
Please consider donating to the gofundme page. *Update Status * Things are getting better physically and mentally .The mental part of the accident was and still hard but I’m making the best of it everyday. Physically I’m standing ,walking with a walker and assistance. Just recently I went down the stairs in my garage *was very proud of my self too* simple things to you but for me not so much. I just wanted to let people have some insight on me since my accident. Also want to say thank you to the people that have donated already and thank you to the future people that are going too. Well as of December 10 I found out that I need another surgery. It is another serious problem that needs to be corrected as part of the accident that I was involved in. On December 17 I will undergo my six surgery a set back on my end as far as things goes . But I will keep my head high and keep moving.
