Officer M.Daricaud was shot in the line of duty

Malik Daricaud has been an officer of JSO located in Jacksonville, Florida since

2021. Officer Daricaud has always had the desire to serve. He started his law enforcement career as a Police Explorer for the North Miami Beach Police Department at the age of 15. Officer Daricaud then served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years and is currently in the U.S. Airforce National Guard.

On March 26, 2023, Officer Daricaud was shot in the neck following up on a traffic stop. He is currently hospitalized due to his serious but stable condition. He is expected to make a full recovery but it will be a long and difficult journey. Officer Daricaud is supported by his wife and son. Jasmine his wife will not be returning to work for the foreseeable future to act as Malik’s caregiver, and Officer Daricaud will not be able to work overtime.
