Deputy Sheriff Bing Bong Assistance

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I share that The Denver Sheriff Mounted Unit has unfortunately suffered another huge loss. Last night, Deputy Sheriff Mangels’ horse, Deputy Sheriff Bing Bong, passed away from colic. Due to horse anatomy, colic can strike at any time. If anyone has any questions as to how this illness occurs, please feel free to ask a member of the unit. Both Deputy Mangels and Bing Bong worked very hard to represent the department in such a positive light and excelled tremendously. The Denver Sheriff Department horses are owned and maintained by the officers. Please keep the Mangels family in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve the loss of their family member. Bing Bong actually held 2 jobs, as he was also a therapy horse who worked with Deputy Mangels’ wife, Shelby to help the community. If you are able to donate in order to help with vet costs and carrying the torch to a new partner and family member for the Mangels, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.
