Derald Plount & Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Maria Maat. Derald Plount is a good friend of my husband & a fellow Knights of Columbus officer. He was in a serious car accident on March 12 & is currently hospitalized in intensive care. He has had ups & downs with severe internal bleeding, his heart stopping, & having to be intubated. In the meantime, his wife Beth who is wheelchair bound & has several medical conditions, was also hospitalized with severe pneumonia. She is currently in ICU at another hospital. Derald, who is “supposedly” retired, works 2 jobs (as a school crossing guard for Norwalk-La Mirada USD & as a clerk for a local gas station). He does this because he is the sole support of his wife Beth, disabled adult daughter Genia, & his autistic grand-daughter. His daughter Genia is currently running back & forth between the 2 hospitals, the school for her daughter, & taking care of their beloved 4 rescue cats. Derald has a heart of gold, always helping not only his family, but his school & church community. He has been a school volunteer & crossing guard for many years. He’s a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church & helps with ushering, Knights of Columbus, pancake breakfasts, fireworks fundraisers, & pretty much anything that is asked of him. He lovingly cooks at home & takes care of his wife who has Parkinson’s. He gives, gives, gives, until he can’t. Like now. It’s time for us to give back to him & help his family because he can’t. Gina & her daughter need help for food, gas, bills, & cat food. Both Derald & Beth are in serious condition & may not survive. All money raised will go towards needed living & medical expenses while they are hospitalized & after they recover since Derald will not be able to work any time soon. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
