Derek Briscoe's Cancer Treatment Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Bridget Kao, and I am creating this Go Fund Me to help defray the costs of cancer treatment for my friend, Janafer's son Derek. Here is a message directly from his mother, Janafer, describing the situation and need:

In May of 2020, Derek then 19, was diagnosed with testicular cancer, within three days, he was in surgery. Pathology came back, and at that time, we were told there was only a 15% chance of it returning. In January of 2021, the cancer returned this time in his liver and lymph nodes. Derek fought again, by undergoing 12 weeks of chemotherapy. Again his Oncology team thought it was gone. He continued the process of routine follow-ups, scans, and bloodwork. A couple of weeks ago, Derek's numbers started going up, and there was a suspicious image on the scans. We received news that the cancer is indeed back again. It is now wrapped around his spine. The Indiana University Dr. gave us two options of horrible chemo plans that have a reported 50% possible cure rate, and with that news, we began searching for alternative cancer treatments. After reviewing all options, Derek decided that he felt we should fight this in a more Holistic/Naturopathic way. We met with his Oncologist and spoke about utilizing this care regimen, and he assured us he would monitor Derek's labs and scans. As you can imagine insurance doesn't cover the costs of these therapies, and with the location of the cancer, Derek is unable to work in his construction job due to pain and limitations.
