Derek Cervantez Memorial
Donation protected
On January 1st Derek Nicholas Cervantez’ life tragically ended after battling severe depression. Although Derek was surrounded by family and friends that cared for and loved him his depression lied to him. Depression told Derek he was worthless, unlovable and didn’t deserve to live. Derek started to believe these lies, he could no longer hear the truth. The truth is Derek was loved and he had worth. Derek strongly believed that Christ was his savior and because of this, we have the confidence that he is spending eternity in heaven. We hope that being honest will help shed some light on the severity of depression and the impact it has. This tragic moment has shocked his family and friends, but we hold on to the memories we have. His witty remarks, funny jokes, love for the 49ers, and the love and time he gave to all of us will always be remembered. Derek will be greatly missed. As his family prepares to make memorial arrangement they ask for support in any way.
