Support for Derek McCoy family as he Fights Cancer

First, thank you for being here.  Derek McCoy and his beautiful family have been a shining star, guiding and helping so many through hard times; now is the time to reciprocate and prove that love is, indeed, always the answer.

As some of you may know, two months ago Derek was diagnosed with cancer.  This was very hard for us to believe because Derek is a healthy, hardworking and loving man.  So when we received this news we immediately started researching other hospitals that we could go to for a second opinion.   We decided on, The Mayo clinic in Minnesota.  They provided the same diagnosis as the doctors in Michigan. 

As many may know that before any treatment decisions can be made on treating cancer most patients must have a PET scan to determine if cancer is anywhere else in the body.  The results of the PET scan showed that Derek not only has the cancer in his larynx but a small mass was discovered on his right lymph node in his neck.  The biopsy revealed small cell carcinoma of the larynx which is a very rare cancer.  Derek's cancer is so rare that he has a total of five doctors involved in his treatment plan.  We are blessed to have a team that has faith that his cancer is curable with radiation and chemotherapy.

Derek has been so mentally shocked not only by his illness but when the doctors told him that he will not be able to work for a year or longer that he immediately begin to shut down, knowing that he was not going to be able to take care of his family and doctor bills would begin to pile up on his family.

As you can imagine, his treatments are expensive, and Derek and his family could use all of the financial support they can get.  Derek does have health insurance but health insurance does not cover cancer treatments at a 100%.  Your generosity can help lighten the load, so that he can focus on his treatments and beating this cancer.  Derek is currently receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments at the West Michigan Cancer Center.  Your kind donation will go directly to Derek and his family to help deal with financial repercussions of his current condition so they can focus on healing and supporting one another.

We valued the opinions of medical professionals, but God is the greatest physician and we have faith that Derek will be healed.
