Derek Paiva Medical Crisis

Derek Paiva has begun treatment at the Envita facility in Arizona, but there are unforeseen problems that have happened. He has required more extensive medical care than was expected, requiring a longer stay. When Derek does return home (hopefully by July) there will be new medical care that needs to be set up in Norman for ongoing local treatment. All of this translates into the need for more funds. Many of you have given generously, but there is still a great need for us to support the Paiva's financially. The Paiva's home in Norman also needs to be treated for black mold that was found, which must be finished and paid for before Derek can return. As you can see, they still need our help! Derek Paiva needs our help. Derek and Beca Paiva are a beloved family and part of River Church in Norman, OK. They are OU BSU/BCM alums. They are part of the FOCUS family. They have impacted many people for the kingdom of God, and now they need ALL of our help. About five years ago, Derek's health began to decline severely. Neurological complications, dental pain, severe headaches, memory loss, dramatic weight loss, chronic pain. Eventually, Derek was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. While this provided some answers, his condition continues to be highly burdensome for him and his family. He's not getting better, and his future is in danger. An in-patient facility called Envita in Arizona has been identified that could change the course of Derek's life and the lives of his family. But he needs our help. Insurance won't cover the daunting costs involved. That's where we come in. We can step in to provide for the Paiva's, and help Derek regain the life that this disease robbed him of.
