Father Punished For Being Paralyzed
Donation protected
In 2013, a year after my son Parker was born, my back was broken and my spinal cord was completely severed in an accident; leaving me permanently paralyzed. On November 12, 2014 a Kentucky judge ruled that my visitations with my son must now be supervised due to the simple fact that I am “confined to a wheelchair”. Then on August 10, 2015, that same judge said that my mother, who lives 12 hours away in Pennsylvania, is the only person allowed to supervise my visits. By doing this he cut my visitation time in half; this took away my Tuesday and Friday night visitations with Parker. Now, the only time I am permitted to see my son, is every-other Saturday and Sunday when my mother makes the 25-hour round trip drive. The sole reason I moved to Kentucky and away from my home and family was to be the best father I could possibly be for Parker. I have overcome so many obstacles and have faced countless hardships and challenges only to be held back, not by my condition, but by a judge that only sees my wheelchair when he looks at me. Please help with the expense of hiring an attorney who is capable of taking this unjust case to the next level, which is the Kentucky Court of Appeals. It could take a year for my case to be heard and will cost five to ten thousand dollars but my son is worth it! Meanwhile my mom will continue to spend an average of $450 per trip, every other weekend so that I can be with my son. Since November 2014 she has spent approximately $8,000 so that Parker and I can be together. Anything you could donate towards my upcoming legal expenses and my mother's bi-weekly expenses would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Here is a Facebook page that was made for me two years ago when I had my accident.
