Derrick Accra Memorial 5 a side Tournament

My name is Nandi Accra and I want to put on a football tournament in memory of my father Derrick Accra. He started a youth club in Brixton in 1982 for the young kids who were getting into trouble.  He opened his flat to the children to use as a club base.  The football club became one of the most successful clubs in South London and they branched out doing dance classes, a nature club, horseriding and education classes to name but a few.

I want to put on this tournament to bring young people together and instill community pride in them and show them that there are other paths to go down which bring success when you work hard.

There will be an U12s and U14s knock out 5 a side tournament where the winners will receive medals and a cash prize. There will also be a community fun day element to it with food on sale, face painting, bouncy castle etc activities for young children to do and people can come together and have fun. The tournament will be on 6th August 2022.
