Derrick Esbeck: Pursuing Dreams Despite the Odds

Derrick is a recent graduate from the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. Derrick was originally from Uganda but faced many obstacles growing up due to his disability. Derrick was born with Cerebral Palsy which makes it very difficult for him to move about his environment. Despite all that he has faced, he overcame everything that life has thrown at him and has graduated from high school and college to pursue his dreams. Derrick is planning a trip back to Uganda for a year to pursue internships with two companies in the capital city of Kampala. He plans to be working with a music production company and a graphic design company to further his love and gift for art. We hope that you hear some of his story and are inspired by what he has achieved. Derrick is a fellow Phi Psi alum and would be very appreciative of any donations that would help support him and his dream.
