Derrick Wiseman Cancer Fundraiser

Hello. My name is Jill - I'm Derrick's sister-in-law. I wish that wasn't a title because he's essentially my brother. He's been there for me for the last twenty years and now I'm doing a small part in helping him.

On July 20th, our family changed forever. Derrick was admitted into the hospital with a hellishly low iron count and needed a blood transfusion - 6 actually - stat. The cause of his bleeding still hasn't been determined but what was is that he has Nodular Lymphocyte-Predominant Hodgkins Lymphoma, or just Stage 4 Lymphoma if you're into the brevity thing.

All while he was in the final stages of signing on a house for his wife and three children - a 13, 12, and 6 year old.

Things are getting very crazy very fast. Heck, who am I kidding? They've been crazy from day 1. Our goal here is to raise funds for anything that is upcoming that we cannot forsee (or that we can, just not in its enormity). Travel expenses, lodging if need be, food for when he just *cannot*... things like that. His support network is spread far and wide - that is both good and bad for us as an immediate family. We know he has people that love him everywhere - if you can give just a little, that's fantastic. If you can share, super. If you can just manage good vibes, hey we need all of those, too.
