REQUEST FOR MAILING ADDRESS: Sandy would like to send an individual Thank You card to everyone who sent prayers and donations. We would greatly appreciate it If you could please message me (Pamela Donahue Cramer) on FB with your mailing address.

Additional Update:

Sandy went home last night. She has daily visits from nurses and wound care. She will need to be on antibiotics, a complex insulin plan as well as glucose monitoring. It is a long road ahead, so please keep all the prayers and positive thoughts coming! The outpouring of love and prayers has been incredible. Thank you all for your continued support.

Additional Update:

A huge thank you to everyone for their prayers, support and donations. Sandy is blessed to have so many people who care about her!!! In 48 hours, we raised $7500!!! That is incredible!

Her doctors are trying to devise a long term in-home nurse care and wound care. She will also need to be on glucose monitoring machine as she is in diabetic ketoacidosis. The good news is they believe they have removed all the soft tissue that was dead.

As you can imagine, this long term care will add even more medical costs. We are asking for one final push for anyone who can help meet this goal! A HUGE thank you to all the wonderful and caring people!

Update: In just about 12 hours we hit our original fundraising goal. Thank you to all of the people who have shown their support and spread the word.

Today the doctors inform Sandy they may need to go back into surgery. We are waiting to hear back soon. Please keep her in your prayers and thoughts. Again, THANK YOU ALL!!!

Hi, my name is Shannon and I am coordinating this fundraiser with my Aunt, Pam Cramer. I am fundraising for my mother, Sandy Baxter, who contracted a rare and deadly soft tissue infection as a result of her diabetes disease. A surgeon best described it as a non-contagious infection, but one that can spread like 'wildfire' if not treated immediately.

On August 10, a simple visit to Urgent Care quickly led to being airlifted to shock trauma at a Baltimore hospital, where they performed emergency surgery. She is hooked up to 8 IVs, while her body struggles to protect itself from this rapidly spreading infection. She received a second surgery today (8/11). Sandy is expected to remain in the ICU for several more days but will continue to be hospitalized for an extended period.

As with anyone in this situation, not only is Sandy impacted physically and emotionally, but she is also faced with the financial hardship of being a self-employed small business owner. Whereas the exact road to recovery is still unknown, it's with great certainty that it will be a long recovery and the financial impacts will be crippling.

Sandy has never been one to ask for help as she always felt that someone else may need help more. My mother has been a blessing to so many people; we would love to be a blessing to her. We are kindly asking for donations to help minimize medical bills and expenses. Our goal is to raise $5000 to help reduce some of the financial stress and burden.

Please spread the word and keep my mother (Sandy) and our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
