Des Prindle & Family
Donation protected
On August 29th our dad, Des Prindle, was in an awful accident while at work. He has always been someone who loves the woods and the outdoors. He thrives off the thrill and adrenaline his job gives him, and anything & everything about hanging in a tree. This is a career that gave him a great sense of accomplishment and he had always been self employed until recently when he joined a new tree company. While out on a morning job, he was unfortunately hit in the back of the head with a 40 ft limb (about 18 inches around) and it threw him to the ground, slamming his face to the dirt. If it wasn’t for his incredible luck and his helmet, we wouldn’t even have a dad today. But by the grace of god, this crazy man is still truckin’ and recovering incredibly.
Some of the injuries he sustained were things like a broken eye socket, unattached jaw, cheek bones, mandible, palette, (basically every bone in his face except his nose), small brain bleed, ruptured ear, potential vision loss, broken collar bones, and obviously we are dealing with lots of trauma and frustration. While many of these issues have already begun healing on their own, or have been corrected with surgeries, he still has a very long road ahead of him, as do we. At this time we are about 3 weeks in, and he is still in the hospital. After a good two week stay in the ICU, he was moved to a new room and is getting healthy enough to hopefully move onto a rehab facility sometime soon before officially coming home.
Overall things are looking really good and he is doing fantastic recovering. He has an amazing support system, as do we, and it has really helped keep spirits high and help us get through this. On the other hand, we are at a loss for income as he is no longer working and we have no clue what is to come with this situation. We are hoping that with your help we can afford to keep things afloat until we can figure out exactly what is next. With your help we could manage our normal expenses, along with the costs of traveling to and from the hospital, buying groceries, and additional bills associated with the accident. If we’re lucky maybe this can even help us take a day out of work/school to visit him in the morning when he is at his best. We are looking for any donations that can help, even if it’s just $5 anything helps. We really appreciate everyones kind words and support during this time, and it makes us feel so good to see a community come together in such a tragic yet beautiful way.
Even if you can't donate yourself, help us out and share this please!!
