Ranger Donations

Hi. I work as a Ranger and live miles into wilderness. After serving my community in Social Services for nearly a decade I decided to follow my dreams.  

When I got hired just over a year ago, I had to get a better vehicle for off-road ability because of where I am required to live which gets flooding and ice in winter, and deep sand ontop/the rest of the year. I got a used Jeep and 4 months later (this Dec) the engine blew. It was random failure through no act of my own, but I go left holding the short end of the stick to say the least. No savings, no warranty. It sat until the end of April, after paying approx. $7500-$8000 for a remanufactured engine and parts/labor, with borrowed money, credit cards, and whatever else I could do to get a car again after months of sitting at home, miles from the nearest store. That doesn't include about a grand of parts I replaced myself because of the engine failure. Either way I couldn't afford any of this, but it had to be done, and now I am really underwater.

 

I am trying to raise some funds to get me back on my feet. I have had no hot water or gas to cook for about 4 months now. I use a camping shower that was donated to me in the meantime. My bills are behind and the stress of trying to keep up has been building for months, so I figured I would finally try to get some help. I have sold everything I had of value that I could part with and continue to find side work, and ways to make money.

 

In exchange for your donation, visiting, sharing or just taking your time to read my story I will be posting an intimate look at what I do both for work and in my personal life as it pertains to conservation, wildlife/wilderness protection, and all the cool things that come with it. You can see the work I do and judge for yourself. I am employed fulltime with a very good employer. I am paid for all the work I do except for things I may choose to do on my time off that I think helps contribute to conservation.
