Deserving Young Family
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Rod, and I am raising funds for a young family who have had a chain of events happen to them which is both unbelievable and heartbreaking.
The Back Story - This young Family bought a House across the road from us a couple of years ago and have been slowly renovating and doing Landscaping works as they could afford to do so. Some eight months ago they welcomed a baby boy into their lives.
Luke works for a Civil Construction Company and is in the process of starting his own Excavation Business. He has just taken delivery of his new 5 Tonne Excavator and has been eagerly awaiting the delivery of his new Truck ordered some 4 Months ago, which was scheduled for pick up this week.
Some two months ago their luck changed for the worst: -
First Event: - Their family car went in for a Service and the mechanics rang saying there were Metal Filings on the Sump plug, indicating there were major problems within the Engine. In this scenario there are two options: one is to have the car serviced and sell it as soon as possible, or the other is to have it fixed.
This couple chose the second option and had the Vehicle repaired because, and I quote "we could not live with ourselves knowing that someone would buy the car and then it would have a major failure" Such is the moral integrity of this couple.
Second Event: - On Tuesday night the 23rd August 2022 they were asleep in their house and were awoken by the sound of loud bang. Luke walked outside and found a fire taking hold on the end of his House. By the time he raised the alarm and got his family and his trusty Blue Heeler out of the House, the fire had taken hold. He was only able to get his old Rodeo Ute out, but not the family car, which had just had over $5000 spent on repairs and could only watch it being burnt beyond repair. The fire was so fiece and quick that they basically got out with only the clothes they were wearing and lost everything else.
Fortunately, they have Insurance and the Insurance Company is working with them to provide a new house they can call Home.
Third Event and the very Worst: - As previously mentioned, this couple are starting a new Business which was scheduled to kick off in the next two weeks.
They have taken delivery of their new Excavator and were supposed to pick the new truck up on Friday 23rd September 2022 from Tamworth.
All the Finance had been arranged and Luke rang the Truck Dealer a couple of days earlier to arrange the pickup.
This is where things have gone terribly wrong, as when he spoke to the dealer, the Dealer said, no worries all I need is payment for the Balance owing, $135,000.00 and the Truck is yours.
Luke was in total disbelief as he explained to the dealer that all the money owing on the Truck had been transferred to the dealer's Bank and he had a receipt for two payments totalling the correct amount.
As the sickening events unfolded it was identified that they had been the victim of a very clever and disgusting act where some Scum bag/s had intercepted and hacked their Email address and then were able to manipulate the correspondence coming and going between them and the dealer.
As a result, they were totally oblivious to the fact that when they thought they were corresponding with the dealer they were actually corresponding with the Scumbag Hackers and vice versa when the Dealer thought he was corresponding with them.
The end result is that when the Funds were Transferred, they were diverted to the Scumbag Hackers Account in Western Australia instead of the Dealers. They received doctored Receipts making them believe that everything was good.
Understandably they were devastated and immediately went to their Bank (Commonwealth) to see if anything could be done to reverse the Transaction. The Bank, who really did not want to know them initially, informed them that the Funds went to an ANZ Bank Account in WA, but were unable to provide them with any additional information.
They then contacted the Police and Cyber Police to see what could be done by them, resulting in Reports being prepared for Investigations to begin.
All this will take time and based on the conversations with the Authorities, they do not hold high hopes of the monies being returned.
This young couple does not deserve what's been handed to them in such a short period, so I am asking that we help them by getting the Truck so they can start their Business, generate an Income and get on with their lives.
The Target is $135,000.00 but any funds would be of assistance and appreciated.
It is also an important reminder that when transferring funds via the Internet, Bank details be doubled checked and then contact made to ensure the funds are transferred to the correct Account.
Lastly, should be some miracle the Funds are returned, any monies raised will be donated to another deserving Charity.
Thank you.
