Deshawn Herbert Memorial Fund
Donation protected
We are all grief-stricken at the loss of the beautiful young soul Deshawn Herbert. Deshawn died senselessly on March 27; he had just turned 21 years old. He leaves behind a loving family and a whole community of friends in the wrestling community who loved him dearly. Deshawn was known for being a wildly talented wrestler but also a kind-hearted young man, good friend, devoted brother and uncle, and a big charismatic personality who had a quirky sense of humor. Despite all the challenges he faced, he always had a smile on his face, and open heart, and was willing to share his giant spirit with anyone he met, no matter where they came from or who they were.
On behalf of the family, we ask that you make a contribution that will go toward funeral and burial services for Deshawn. Any money raised that exceeds the cost of funeral services will go toward a wrestling scholarship for a student in need.
This go fund me is being managed by Jennifer Bonjean, Ken Alpart, and Dmitriy Landa of Elite Wrestling Academy. Jennifer and Ken are raising this money on behalf of Rosetta Hebert, Deshawn's Mother for funeral costs. Jennifer and Ken are friends of the family and their son Dove was a teammate of Deshawn's. They have known Deshawn and his family since Deshawn was in middle-school. Should there be any funds remaining after funeral costs, a wrestling scholarship will be set up in Deshawn's name to be offered to a child in need through the Elite Wrestling Academy where Deshawn trained with his longtime coach Dmitriy Landa.
