DeShawn Parker Recovery Fund

If you know Deshawn Parker, than you know he is one of the nicest guys on the planet, unfortunately he was severely injured in a freak accident behind the starting gate this past Tuesday at Horseshoe Indianapolis. Deshawn is always the first one to help anyone in need, donate his time to charitable causes or offer advice and help mentor his younger peers. He is such a gentleman and has devoted his whole life to horse racing, which is why on behalf of my fellow horseman I'd like to help give back to him when he is down. If anyone is deserving of a good gesture, it's definitely this humble man.

Deshawn has four fractures in his pelvis and two more in his tailbone. He underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair these but has a quite a battle in front of him, including nearly the first two months confined to a wheelchair with a no weight bearing restriction. Despite the severity of his injuries, and in true Deshawn fashion, he was in good spirits yesterday when his agent spoke to him and is looking forward to getting on the road to recovery and back to the track.
