Design Build Fly Wettbewerb 2024 Team FH Joanneum

We are students at the Institute of Aviation at FH JOANNEUM in Graz and participate in an international competition in the US.

What exactly is it about?

Every year, the Design-Build-Fly competition takes place, in which teams from universities around the world design, build and demonstrate a model airplane in the air according to the requirements of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

The topic of this year's missions is "Urban Air Mobility".

Who are we?

Our team consists of Bachelor's and Master's students from the Institute of Aeronautics at FH Joanneum in Graz.

Since October 2023, our students in the Engineering, Management and Technical Documentation groups have been working diligently on our aircraft, called "Bergfink".

Why do we need the financial support?

In April 2024, 18 of our Master's students will travel to Wichita in Kansas to take part in the competition. As being the only Austrian team, we want to represent our plane, our university and Austria in the best possible way.

However, we are dependent on financial support for our trip and the production of our competition plane.
